There are not many R154 short shifters. I know there are The C's(Gen 1 and 2)[I have one] There is the stillway sequential(Ive only sen 2) Nashman makes his own, The SupraSport shifters( I hear they are good) and some shit ass ebay ones.

For a real short shifter, be prepared to spend lots of loot.

I like mine. My C's makes the driving experience better. Ric, get in a MK3 and try to shift with the stock shifter, its like a foot of travel.

I for one, have never missed a shift.

I disagree Ric, while it can make it sometimes easier to miss shifts, I've never done it, in any of the dozen or so cars I've driven with short shifters. If you're being absent minded and not trackign what you're doing, then I guess you might throw it to the wrong fork. But in my experiences, everytime I'm driving HARD, the short shifter is less likely to go into the wrong gear- its a much more precise movement.

And actually all short shifters do is raise the fulcrum. Sometimes they'll have different stick designs to better place the knob, but mostly its just raising the fulcrum.

It's really not that bad at all. I've been doing it for 5 years... It's like grinding rocks if you have dead synchros maybe.

I prefer the stock shifter over the C's.

I drove BorHor's NA the other day. I felt like I was throwing punches withthe stock shifter in his car! Mine was tighter.

The R154 is an easy transmission to drive. People overly hate on it. Mine has dead 2nd gear syncros(downshift = grind) and 3rd(HIGH RPM downshift grind) and its a fight to get it into first, but other than that, its a dream

careful sir crisp, mine was doing that, and 50miles later BOOM! Lost first, reverse, 2nd would *sometimes* engage and was completely locked out of 3-4 (but 5th was okay!)

Rebuild that sumbitch soon!
