A Yankee lives north of the Mason Dixon line, in the original colonial territory. Those in the Louisianna purchase are not usually called Yankees. Which is why that text said the North East.

Solenoid is misspelled and mispronounced often. I think the spelling is a result of not knowing how to pronounce the word.

Root and Rowt=route they both seem to roll of the tounge depending on who knows what.
A midwestern one is a small river called a "crick" for creek. Not sure why people do that one.

I know that, that's why I said why am I called a yank...I'm from Louisiana...and the farthest north I've ever been is when I went to Maryland once.
