Well I need new shocks for my car big time. will i notice it much if i get shocks without tems support. i mean i realy won't know how good tems is because the shocks on the car were dead from day one of me owning this car. but is it worth paying $100 per shock for tems or will kyb's be a good replacement, can't spend to much as i am broke. :(

hey man, im gonna be running kyb's with some EiBachs on my 87 N/A.

Val (Black 87 turbo supra) has Tokico, but they have blown out on him twice already, had the tems on his and took it off. he likes it better w/o it.

Matt (White 89 turbo supra) is running KYB's Also i think.

My preference is KYB's . ive had them on 3 of my cars.( 2 Hondas, and my old Supra) not including my N/A now. You could disconnect the TEMS , and run regular struts or you can keep them. its up to you. i got mine for $46.88 a strut at Advance Auto parts ( non-tems). Good luck with it !

my old supra had tems, they are kinda soft all the time....nothing like my car now. no tems is the way to go for me. you would have to ride in a non-tems car to see what i mean.

I picked up Koni's from HPF last month when they were on special (360 for the set IIRC). I was actually going to use bilstiens until I put a set of Koni's on my GF's 3G, they were both smooth and stiff at the same time. I picked up a set of Koni's and Tanabe springs - much smoother ride than Eibachs (personally I have never ridden in or driven a car with Eibachs and liked the ride- but that is just me) while still being stiff enough. Besides, if you want a go-kart type ride anyway, go with a full coil over set-up, you will never be able to achieve that with a stock-type set-up (imo).

Check here for my koni install:

it has settled a little since these pics were taken, but the car sits plenty low...

I'm all for the kyb's (plan on replacing my tems with kyb's), has ne one heard good things from rs-r springs? I'm looking for a more performance oriented ride as this car is not my dd, rs-r claims to be better than eibach (more load handling capability or something like that). They've got two types, the down springs and race grade springs. If nebody has heard good things from this brand, let me know. Thanks.

Are stock TEMS suspension rebuildable? I know how to rebuild motorcycle shocks and forks. I'd like to try a car's suspension.
