my shocks blew out on my supra.. were giving out slowly and now they are finally TOAST.

I took a wheel off my other supra (which has brand new kyb's with new springs) and looked, I need to know the sequence on how to take the shock/spring off as ONE unit.. if possible.

I was looking and i came up with this, PLEASE correct me though.

1) loosen strut top bolts (the three on the tower in engine bay)
2) upper a arm footlong bolt removal
3) Sway bar bolt removal ???
4) lower shock bolt
5) remove strut top bolts
6) swing upper a-arm over, pull shock/spring out as one.

Do i have to jack up the lower a arm or no?

Thanks guys, any and all help is appreciated.. my wifes ancient grandma is a hazard to the road, and ironically totaled my wifes car, so now i have to be the supracab for my wife.. starting tomorow at 10:30 PM

BTW: front passenger side SUCKS. The A-arm bolt WILL run into the washer fluid resevoir, unbolt it a few bolts to get it loose and squeeze that long as bolt right by it. Also DO NOT loosen the shock nut "figer loose" (step 3) as the TSRM says....this cause LOTS of problems as i found out....the nut is a lock nut most likely and will never be figer loose until its off.....oops...that was fun

Top, bottom, slide the bottom out, and maneuvre it down/out. It's pretty easy if you haven't done it yet. Just take a look and you'll see what needs to come out, it's straightforward. Don't need to jack up the arm, would we worse if you did. Let it drop.

just take off the upper a arm, unbolt the 3 top bolts, take off the lower bolt for the shock/spring, and pull it out. done.
i think it was the front or rear not sure but you might have to take off the hub to get a good reach t the bottom bolt of the shock/spring.

It's not that hard of a job but I would say do it with a friend or two cause it's most deff a two man job but I guess you could do it by yourself if your crafty enuff.

wow..im so fucking tired....

I worked black friday from 4am to 4pm.

Previous night i drove GF to work at 1AM (2 hrs sleep)
At 4 pm after work on black friday, worder on supra untill 9PM

Today, woke up at7 am, and went to work untill 4 pm. Got home and worked on supra untill 8:30 PM.

Took 2hrs 15 mins per shock/spring. Did it alone, with no massive issues accept the god damn windshield washer fluid container (ended up breaking it to bits with a hammer)

got the fronts done.. rears are way easier, and will be done tomorow.

Thanks for the help.. it helped out alot to know a little more then i did.

So, no more bottoming out constantly on ANY left turn, now have A/G springs with GR2 shocks that ride fucking beautifully.
