got this suggestion from another forum i think it might just work:

grab a dremel, or some sort of cutting tool. cut a slit in the bolt (make sure its steady, and a straight line) and use a flathead screwdriver to turn it out, then replace it with the new one... ive done it many times with several items.

I come from a land down under
If it's tight enough that it rounded with a wrench I can't see you moving it with a screwdriver!

If you have an old screwdriver or a blunt chisel you can put this on a corner and tap it with a hammer and break it loose.

The bolt is the black bit and the screwdriver in red!

Dave, how many washers do you have on your wastegate? I have my DrJ MBC sitting at home and it's going on this weekend, might as well get some washers on there now when I'm first putting it in and not have to worry about putting them in later on down the road.

no, he is suggesting that you put a chisel (or screw driver) on the side of the bolt and try to "spin" it out by hammering down on the chisel.

those bolts come off easy, i think you just didnt have your socket, wrench, on there straight and that is why it slipped off and the bolt is now stripped.

I put on basically 2.5 of the washers that go on the headbolts. I used two of those, and epoxied another one that was about half as thick in between them.

Hey Grimjack its Tejon(burnt orange 88T Supra) Anyway I said the hell with it and I put 5 washers on each bolt(couple months ago) and holy crap did I notice a difference. I don't have a gauge yet that reads over 8psi to see if I get boost drop but I'm pretty sure I'm not getting boost spike because I'm not hitting fuel cut. Though I have modded my MAF meter if that makes a difference. I thought of the mbc but I'm just going to get the AVC-R when I upgrade to bigger better things. As far as the bolts on the wastegate if you can't get them off....wait a tick when I bought my washers from Home Depot..yes thats right I also bought longer Stainless Steel bolts because when you shim past 4 you don't have enough grip on your stock bolts. Anyway take a dremel and drill out the bolts. then replace with new ones. Good luck. Later-T

Does Doom have the Lex AFM and at least 550 injectors with a boost controller of some type?

I dont want this guy to start hitting fuel cut and come out screaming again because his car bucks and snorts about at full throttle.....LOL

No offense at all, but the reason I havent done this yet Doom is because I dont have a boost controller or any other tuning devices implemented to take ahold and actuate how much boost I can run.....

I think God is trying to say something when you stripped the bolt....

Im only sticking 2 washers on this should hardly make too much of a difference mabye a 1 or 2 psi increase im not slapping on like 4 or more washers.

Since heat makes things expand, I'd try CAREFULLY and SLOWLY using a propane torch. I find that when a bolt doesn't want to come off a little heat always helps. The wg might be too fragile to do this, I don't know as I've never done it. Just look around and see if there's anything that could get burned. Also, vice grips will work, you'll just have to reallly really clamp them on there. Check the teeth on the grips and see if they're rounded or really sharp, if they're rounded take a file down between all of them to get them nice and pointy so that when you clamp them on they'll bite into the bolt really good. I use PB blaster, great stuff. WD-40 might work also.

finally got the bolt out bored one of my friends smaller vice grips and a little WD-40 and she came right out :icon_surp

well finally shimed the wastgate with 2 wahshers. I gained mabye like 1 whole psi. As it just peaks at 8 psi now instead of 7psi. Though in 5th gear I can easly max the gauge right out. IT is a little unstable at time but It never seem to go out of the boost gauges range. Excellent mod as I could feel that extra boost and power.
