shimming the wastegate?

is there anything bad about shimming the wastegate? i have only a test pipe and intake. i think it would be safe if i had a elbow and dp wouldnt it? i mught try this.

yes its horrible dont do it. if u do it, the wastegate will explode shooting through ur turbo and block completly destorying everything and anything.

do a search on it ull see :)

Lay off the crack, please.

Shimming the wastegate is the cheapest form of upping the boost you can do.
The draw backs are that the life of the wastegate actuator is severely cut.

ha im not on crack. i just wanted to jump on the "use the search button" boat. hell i had my wastegate shimmed for along time. but ive since gone to a MBC.

on the 7m 1 psi on a basically stock car usually makes about 11hp more.. i have no idea about the 1g.. id imagine it would be a bit less per psi just because of 1.0L less displacement

mind u i dont even know if u can on the 1g.. haha.. ive never looked into it.. this whole time i was thinking u were on the 7m haha..

in au. they all say you can boost to 14 but if you go past 14 then you'll make more heat than pwr. they seem to hold good at 14 but thats the max
