thank you on the post of how to check that will help. now what if its not right how do i change it.
You go to the dealer and pick up the correct size shim!!! These things are about the size of a nickle and they come in different thicknesses. If one valve is to big and another to small you can just change places. Go to the link for the tsrm that I gave you, it explains everything you want to know about your car!

What is the general price of the shims?

I think Toyota gets about $8 ea for them and there are 24! I do have a box of about 30 shims, but you would need to tell me what sizes you need. I would sell them for $2.50 ea.

i'm not exactly sure how much the cost is but i would suggest buying a handfull from someone on here. I need to get off of my ass and put together a how to on this.

you going to need a micrometer to get the sizes of the shims,
a feeler guage
a snap on valve tool, <- unless you preffer to take off the cams :::its hard to read but the part # is YA8825
some shims
and basic math skillz

the job itself is easy, its just a pain in the ass to get those shims out and back in.
