she wont start

Driving down the road and stereo lights start flashing off and on plus dash lights. when I shut car off and try and start again it does nothing, starter doesn't even click. Also have no dash lights or anything inside car electric, headlights will come on though. I pushed the car off and it ran and everything works while its running but if I let off gas it goes dead and will not start. what could this be?

Have you checked the connections on the battery? May just be a lucky break that it runs when you pop-start the car.
My mom's 04 Grand Cherokee just did this and it was a bad cable where it attached to the terminal at the battery.

Haven't taken wires from battery terminal to check.. but makes no sense that head lights work but not dash lights or other electric stuff in car. Battery also shows 12volts. I know alternator is going bad and was loud right before this happened. when I pushed the car off, dash lights were very bright even though alternator wasn't doing much according to my safc volt reading.

I would start there and verify that the alternator/generator is working with a DMM

thanks for help guys but it was just the 100amp alternator fuse. I had soldered it together one day a long time ago when I didn't have one on hand to get car started. Never thought about it again. New fuse and its fine.lol
