Well, I emailed them the clip of it running and knocking. And they said it sounds like knock. So I'm sure they are going to tare it down and see whats up. From the way they were talking, It's sounds as if they will not be reusing the block and crank. But at this point its up in the air. They will be building me another one (or fixing this one).
THE CAR IS DONE. Yes, we decided to let a professional shop do the work, they took the car Wednesday afternoon, got the new motor/clutch put in today, fixed timing and all. Car according to them is running ultra quiet and smooth, will be picking the car up sometime tomorrow. I'll also take pics.
still missing the reason why you were so against getting a GTE considering you said you were getting a new engine and doing a headgasket job either way.
headgasket done, car should be fairly reliable... turbo or not and the GTE is not much more expensive as you didnt mention money being a restricting factor here.
