Shaved door handles track legality Q's

I have decided Im going to shave all my body trim on my supra.

Well since I'm shaving the trim I figured I might as well shave the handles also.

however I have a fairly large concern about being able to run at the track with shaved door handles.
Does anyone know If I can get away with shaved handles for road racing?

Also I am custom painting the car and I truly believe it will turn out great so I don't want this to turn into a "shaved supras are ugly, they look too long" etc. Thread.

I'd email whichever sactioning body you are going to run with an ask them.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't think it would be a problem. In the higher classes of SCCA, GT1-5, and the Production classes, they are no longer door slammers.
But then again, I highly doubt you'd be running against those classes.

I know you can't drag race with shaved door handles. I would guess (and I'm fairly certain the answer would match) that any of the road racing groups would also not let you race with shaved door handles.

Check out the NASA rules - they will give you a good idea.

With the modifications I am doing to the car it shoots me right into classes like that... I might just get an extra set of doors so I can swap them out for showing the car.

99% sure you need them.

How else will they peel you out of the car after you smash it up?

Just in search for a cleaner look is all. That and my drivers door handle is not in perfect condition so I need to replace it anyway.
