On my way home from the Louisville meet I got teh BHG while misbehaving...anyways thought I would share it with everybody.

I haven't completely decided what I'm going to do yet but hope to have it going again in a couple of months.

Enjoy :naughty:

Sorry to hear... What do you mean by misbehaving and what kind of gasket is that?

He means he was racing/playing around ;).

Good thing you parked it when it happened. People, notice how his pistons aren't steam cleaned? THAT'S how you're supposed to treat the car when you BHG'd, pull it over immediately and don't drive it until fixed properly.

yeah John, I want to get the works done, machined, valve job, and new seals. I know of one place I would take it but more options are better.

Jeff was suppose to get me the info of the guy you use but hadn't heard anything back from him about it yet.

You're going MHG, right?!

I'm debating that still.

did you blow that w/ arp's installed? just curious because i know i'm putting more stress on the motor (stock 7m) than you w/ 12 psi, and 11:1 AFR's

Yes ARP's to 81 ft/lbs, How ever I didn't have my head checked before replacing it the first time and I didn't use a Felpro, used some other brand don't remember the name.

I want to but I'm not sure I want to try it without getting my block milled or at least lapping the block, to do that I need to have the thing completely torn down don't it? If I'm going to pull the pistons out I should go ahead and re-ring it at the very least.....the total cost keeps going up and up and if I'm going to do that I would rather just go for a total rebuild with forged pistons or do a 1j or something.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think so. The block's already out of the car, so pull the studs out, slap the front plate on, and get it milled. HKS is under $100 and milling's another $100 iirc.

Its all in the tune, a stock head gasket will take a fair amount of boost. But if you start to detonate it will fail pretty quickly. All a MHG does is raise the threshold an make it more likely that you will melt a piston. Headgaskets are cheaper than engine builds so I stick with the stock gasket.

If you do any machine work on the block, IT HAS TO BE TORN DOWN.

The guy I use is Williams Precision Engines in St Paul indiana. Talk to Rodger and tell him I sent you.

He's the only guy I trust....
