shaft play

is it normal to have some shaft play in a uninstalled ct-26? Just got a "rebuilt" one of some dude for a bill and wanted to know before the install.

side to side play? or in and out? or both? some side to side is ok, not much though

its spinning freely, but has some play just side to side. seems fine in and out, iam just wondering if this tightens up once the oil is put in and the turbo is installed.

Uninstalled, A little side-to-side is normal, Yes.

Wait until you get it installed and primed with some oil pressure running through it...

Recheck, and if you've still got a noticable amount of play...THEN you've got problems.
