so, on sunday myself and two of my friends found ourselves in my supra on our way to the north-jersey meet. (details about that can be found in the NE section)

we're merging onto I-84 which is a 3 lane road at the poing that we got on, and i see this canary yellow corvette stingray blow by at about 85mph. i love corvettes, (well, the stylish ones anyway) and i followed suit. i did about 100mph on the open road to catch up. then started to trail him.

a few cars came up, so we weaved in and out of them. (not really weaving, the cars weren't that close together- it wasn't dangerous weaving)

out of nowhere, about 2 miles of pure straight open road, and this guy floors it! it was ON! woo! my adrenaline started pumping like crazy! before i knew what i was doing, i was already in fourth gear and the throttle pinned to the floor. i was gaining like a madman on this vette. the turbo spooled almost instantly! think of it this way. we were already doing about 90mph at this point, and i downshifted to 4th gear. woo!

so, it gets to the point where i'm not comfortable with how fast i'm gaining on him and how close i'm getting to his bumper. i let off. the purge of the blowoff valve screams like a banshi, and the whistle of the turbo spooling down is menacing as hell. i look in the guy's rear view to see two VERY large and surprised eyes staring back at me.

he turns on his blinker and moves a lane over to the right. (middle lane) drops back even with me, and makes eye contact with a very, very confused look. :)

i continue on my way, doing about 85-90mph, and he drops in behind me! i was like: "damn! he wants MORE!" so we get past the upcoming cars, and here comes an open spot. my foot crushes the clutch pedal, and my had strangles the shifter into 4th gear again. i kick the gas pedal in the face and we're walking this vette again. he hung with me for probably 4 seconds, then i just walked away. i hit fifth like it was going out of style and was doing about 125mph. i let off and let the car slow down with no brakes. the vette did the same.

we get back down to about 80mph, he pulls up along side of me with a HUGE grin, and gives me a big thumbs up! i did the same, and he turned off on the next exit! :)

Edgar Allen who? This sounds like pure poetry. Great kill, but you could have been killing a freaking yugo and make it sound exciting...............

Glad the vette owned up to his masacre and was cooool about it...............lol

DAMMIT! i should have! :) haha. i would have felt bad though, and let you be in front. at the slight chance that i could actually have taken you, i didn't want to blow oil smoke all over you like i did to everyone else behind me on the cruise! :(

but, my new turbo is in the mail, and i should be able to take a c5 with it. or so i hope! (i should be making about 400-420rwhp with it)

:biglaugh: LOL
Nice kill. A C5 almost hit me on the highway today haha. I put my blinker on to merge into the left lane and he immediatly floors it from 10 car lengths back. as I'm halfway into the lane he gets about a foot from my bumper and gives me a dirty look.

heh, kindof forgot about this thread. i put my new turbo in this past weekend. it's something along the lines of a 60 or 60-1 trim CT26 with a ball bearing front cartridge. it's much more drivable than the stock turbo. nice spooling characteristics. waiting for my wideband to show up before i turn the boost up too much. 10lbs on the new one feels like 14 on the old one. :)

when tuned, i'll hopefully be in the range of 420-450rwhp, assuming my tranny, and clutch can hold on...
