I think I know the color of my seats thank you.

They are not black. The steering wheel is black but the seats are not as black as the wheel.

I'm just asking if someone has found a color that matches.

I'm pretty sure those of us with the 92s/shadow grey would say the seats are black. I used some black shoe polish to fill in some of the age cracks and had no problem. Here's a pic to show you our colors btw. You can see the carpet is grey the dash is dark grey and the seats are some unknown dark color.:biglaugh:

Good luck with your repair also.

Faded black = dark grey lol. I would think with wear and tear over the years the color wouldnt stay as new unless the owner took REALLY good care of it over the years.

If you have used black shoe polish your seats are now the color of your black shoe polish. I have seen that done too and it gives it a darker color.

Faded or not. I'm just looking for a color that will match my seats.

I have never seen any original interior in better shape than mine and I intend to keep it in the original shade of "black" ( :biglaugh: )

No shoe polish here thank you.

My car is a 92 with shadow gray leather interior. The seats are very nice with no cracks or scratches but the drivers seat has a bit of the usual color fading of the left lower back rest.

So I have been thinking about recoloring that part of the seat. The problem is of course to find a perfect color match. The rest of the interior is mint so recoloring everything is out of the question.

Has anyone found a leather color which matches shadow gray?

I don't see what the problem is, especially if your seats are black. People have been taking car of leather for ages. Shoe polish is meant for leather. I'm not sure what I'm missing here. Why go to all the trouble trying to find a black die for leather.

I'm up for interior pics.

If you don't see the problem you don't see the solution. So just leave it.

I have redyed the steering wheel and the black color I used for that is way darker than the leather seats. So if I use that color on the seats and inserts I will have to redye everything. I don't want to do that because it is not needed. I'd much rather find a color that matches the seat and redye that part of the seat that needs to be redyed.

But I'll just see if I can find an upholster around here and have it color matched.
