For a 1JZ timing belt:
The 1988+ Isuzu Trooper 4 cylinder 2.6 liter engine (4ZEL) uses the same belt as the Toyota 1JZ engine. So instead of getting a belt from Japan (~$100) you can pick up an Isuzu Trooper belt locally at an auto parts store for about $30 US. Make Sure You Get The 4 Cylinder 2.6 Litre Engine Belt!

Timing belt specs: 137 teeth, 25mm wide

what joe said. and just in case. if you are running the 2jz waterpump like me and many others are then just get one size smaller than that belt.

One size smaller? What do you mean one size smaller?

Well the part number corresponds to the width and length of a belt. If you are running a mechanical pump then the water pump pulley is slightly smaller so therefore you will need a shorter belt by a half inch I believe. Your local auto parts store should know what you mean when you say I need a size smaller unless they are completely retarded.

I was under the impression that the 2J serpentine only fit if you did the mkiv water pump conversion.

That could be possible but I never bothered trying a 2J belt. I just grabbed one size smaller than the belt for the hydrofan.

I think I'm gonna go get a OE 2J serpentine and see if works with both the hydro and mkiv waterpump as the engine isn't in the car.

A 2J belt *does* fit the hydro. However, it is not proper. The proper belt will put it at proper tension.

We stock all sizes w/ or w/o AC.

Is the tension correct if you convert to mkiv waterpump?
