Serious Question: Black or Silver?

Hello All,

I have a serious dilemma on my hands: Aluminum with chrome lips, or black with chrome lips? ..17x9 and 17x10 +25 stern replicas.. The rears will stick out like this due to the width and offset. Probably slightly stretching a 265 on there to clear the fender. I think the black will set off the black and silver theme with the satin hood, but the silvers just look beautiful and the black hides the wheel design. I am quite torn. HALP!

as the car sits with mkiv n/a +50 16's:

side by side comparison lol (I'm really debating here)

The black makes the car look 'dirtier', while the silver makes the car look 'cleaner' haha.. dammit.

Both look good, and if you have a nice brake setup the wheel design will stand out just fine on black. That being said, silver looks nicer/cleaner to me.

i would, but the reason im getting different wheels is one of the 16x8's is bent/ warped. i can sell you 3 wheels, and 4 tires, and you can get another front wheel :) lol

Hey. 17X10. those are sickness. The black compliments the car, whereas the silver just compliment the wheels. Whatever you choose it won't be wrong.

Exactly!! this is my dilemma. the silver looks soo good, just because it does, but the black and silver theme is also important to me in that it will provide something that makes a statement with the car.. sets it apart. the hood looks more matte in that photo. heres another shot of the satin:

edit: god, i hate that +50 offset..

^im complete oppsite.

I think the silver goes good with the gay blue.

The +25 will not stick out like that either. It will be flush or a tad sunk. 18x10+25 just needs a roll and its flush all around slammed.

lol guys the car is silver.. the white balance in the photos makes it look like a cooler color.

car color aside, I've decided to go with the silver wheels.

this is unfuckwithable:

I wish I could get powdercoated gunmetal, but I can only purchase black, or aluminum spoke wheels.. I'm really not into painting them however, just because I've seen so many 'i painted my rims last year and now they look like ass' wheel paintjobs.. I think ultimately I'll be satisfied with the silver. The black does look cheap, and hides the beauty of the wheel design. If I do get the silvers and decide they're just too bright, I may end up painting them, though I think I'll be satisfied with the silvers... That 300zx looks rad as shit on those wheels, and it's a bright colored car :)
