I saw it tonight; definitely a good flick.

They killed Wash to build suspense. His job was finished (ship landed and unable to fly) so as far as the plot was concerned he was no longer necessary. But he was a central character so by killing him it made the rest of the characters seem more vulnerable.

he didnt get killed that quick....he made it to the end of the movie....as for his job being done.....BS...they proved that he could fight too in the TV show. And what about Kaylee and the Doc? Neither of them could fight worth a damn and got pretty messed up and still lived......

ya jerk

Neways, I really dont think they gave him a proper death, it was like "everyone O... *Bam big harpon thing into his chest* ..RUN
that was it, he wasnt able to be like ill hold them off, then die in battle. no its like he was hired for another movie and they had to kill him off.

Held off reading this thread until I'd seen it!

Didn't know anything about "Firefly" as it hasn't been here so went to Serenity as a total newb and we both LOVED it! :)

Great movie!

Kaylee and the Doc had to put the ship and the rest of the characters back together; they still had a part to play in the story.
