Semi-Direct E-Fan replacement.

Just so you know I am working on a direct E-fan replacement that uses the factory JZA70 hydro fan shroud and bracket this will install a 16" 10A 2900+CFM E-Fan heres the pictures one thing is holding me back my shroud cracked from age/brittleness/heat if you have one for sale PM me I tried Aaron from DM hes keeping the one he haves for a project car.

The reason this is a good replacement is because if you do the 1JZ swap and go the E-fan route using a KOYO radiator this will use most all the parts and have clearance and be the cheapes route Ill post more as it develops feedback or help would be apreciated..

I know some one must be selling a good shroud because alot of people switch over to mechanical fan using MA70 shroud.

Coulda used one of these a few weeks ago before I went with the Flex-A-Lites & had to remove the Koyo rad.

I honestly don't recall if there was a fan shroud on the car before. But I had a local mechanic do the work, so I will ask him to save the shroud if it was there. (I just picked up the car 2 days ago.)

Ya, my bad - I read that as JZA80, and thought he was running a 2J for some reason. Now that you've pointed it out, I can actually see the old fan shroud from the 1J in the photos, too!

The Flex-a-lite kit is 2500cfm, and so is the kit from Adrenaline. How much do your 3000cfm fans have to run?

Most of the flexalite kits I look at are 1200 cfm each 2 fans and each fan uses a range of 6-10amp fans each so at 2400cfm 12-20 amps on a car with under drive pullys and spending ~200+ for the rig I would still be unhappy.

I also looked at other brands such as Mishimoto.

Still no direct E-Fan sollution for ~$100

I tested this fan and radiator setup before but just kind of thrown together with zip ties stand offs it works.

With the E-fan + 4 brackets Ill just spend ~$100.

I heard the factory mechanical fan is around 3000cfm
The factory hydro fan is 2 speed low is 2600 cfm tornado mode high is 3200cfm

I was quoted 700 plus for the flex a lite kit so i doubt they only pull 2500 cfm. i couldnt tell you how much my fans need to run, they are twin 12 inch Davies Craig on a custom alloy shroud and 52mm thick alloy radiator.

Someone was screwing with you, then - these can be had for $350.

It's easy to tell how much they need to run - fire up the car, get it up to operating temp, then sit there with a stopwatch and time how long they are on vs how long they are off for a few minutes.

I got a 2400 cfm, 14" perm-a-cool fan and temp switch for 93 bucks from summit racing. Have it ran to a switch on my aluminum radiator and keeps the engine very cool. Came with mounting ties and everything. Part number 19124, think it runs like 108 now for everything

Yes thats the one mate. You're right, the place that sells them here in Adelaide (Australia) has an excellent rep and is about the only automotive place that brings in an extensive list of parts from The States so I guess they get away with it. I was just going to purchase directly from Summit but my custom arrangement ended up being far cheaper and will hopefully net the same result, they pull a crap load of air!!.

My shroud is ultra thin and doesnt look like it has a great deal of volume but its been tried and tested on a Z20 Soarer with a 2JZ + Greddy T78 which obviously produces a lot of heat and the arrangement held up nicely.

I got bad news for you and what you were told about your product

12 volt 12" fans each fan draws a MAX CFM of 1060 draws 9 amps & cost roughly 226 each X2 that means your system pulls a total of 2120 CFM at 18amps & the two fans cost nearly 3X what the one fan I am installing cost.
I am not knocking it, your product looks great & it works for you, but I am trying to build a system using OEM parts for about ⅓ the cost performs to par of OEM & permacool suggestions & other writeups.

There is ways of getting customs through free or next to free it all depends on the declared value of the item how many items you bring in, the design purpouse of the equipment.
For example if you claim its a finished & assembled product high performance car: ding ding ding $$$$ out wallet. If you claim its for agriculture (farm equipment) free of customs.
You have to know your ways around your own rules and regulations but there is holes you can jump through.
So shipping is the only expense for me customs is usually an inconvenience or delay. When I ordered my wolfv500 ecu from aussie land got it with no hassle or mark up was about 1600 for complete package with display.

^As far as picking perma cool for an E-fan it does what its supposed to and affordable and simple to install but that may infact be a key component of my setup as a spoiler.

All Turbo-Flex® electric fans are pre-assembled and shipped as "pullers."

In choosing an electric fan for primary cooling, four cylinder engines generally require 1,600 cubic feet per minute (CFM) minimum. Six cylinder engines generally require 2,000 CFM minimum, small cubic inch eight cylinder engines require 3,000 CFM and large cubic inch eight cylinder engines require a minimum of 4,500 CFM. Recommendations are based on stock engines and regular driving conditions. CFM estimates are based on the electric fan mounted behind the radiator in a "pulling" configuration. Electric fans mounted in front of the radiator, in a "pushing" configuration, are only 80% as effective.
