so finally after 3 months of having my car in the shop being rebuilt, im driving it home, i down shift into a corner, and i hear a little pop noise, and then no boost. so i though an intercooler pipe popped off, but no. i get home and try to spin the turbo....nothing, it won't spin!! just after i spent 6400 dollars on a rebuild i have to figure out how im going to afford a new turbo. is there any thing i can do fix this one?

i could be wrong, im no turbo expert by far but two things come to mind:

siezed/failed bearings (lack of lubrication, excessive heat maybe)

broken shaft (foreign object damage most likely)

You are correct sir.

Sounds to me like there was possibly a piece of debris in the oil passage from the rebuild that made the oil feed clog.

No oil = no turbo. :-(

Theres nothing you can do for that turbo. It may not even be able to be rebuilt.

That same thing happened to me, halway down the race track against an SRT4. LOUD pop... thought it was an IC hose. Turned out the turbo locked itself up. Had great oil... to this day I've no idea why it happened.
