well like i said i ran into this problem when i locked the car and unlocked it from the passenger side and the alarm went off.luckily my friend was with me and quickly pulled the radio and dome fuse out which killed the alarm.after the car was not starting and i did something which i forgot what and it started up.now when i plug in the dome fuse the alarm goes off again.

does anyone know how to turn the alarm off without pulling the fuses?
and is the dome circuit connected to the radio circuit because my radio isnt working even if the fuse is in...

Just locking and unlocking the driver door should work. Why did your friend pull the dome fuse? Why didn't you just walk around to the driver side door and lock and unlock the car????

I thought you had to turn and hold the door lock for a few seconds.

I never have to, I just turn it to lock then unlock and the alarm goes off. Still confused as to why his friend took the fuse out....I don't know why you would want to shut off the alarm so quickly if you owned the car...not like someone is going to think you are stealing it when you have the keys.

well because pulling the dome and radio is a way to bypass the security and to start the car.i tried locking and unlocking it and it didnt work.im thinking that my door sensor like the one that shows up on the cluster if the door is open is bad...i need to further diagnose this.

if the micro switch at the door locks go bad then just unlocking then opening the door will cause the alarm to go off.
Also if you have the windows rolled down the unlock it from outside it may go off also.

There is 2 switches per door the curtisy light(door jam) & micro switch for the door lock cylinder.
The door lock cylinder wires on the mico switch break off sometimes and you get the same thing.

so your recommending me to change the door lock solenoid or control?

oh and can someone help me and do a quick test on their car which is to remove the dome fuse and see if the courtesy light still comes on when opening the door.thanks guys!

I had that same problem. I bought the car with the driver side not working. The passenger side just failed one day. So I unplugged the alarm. When the alarm goes off it just kills the circut to the starter. So now when the alarm goes off i dont know it. So when it doesnt wanna start I have a toggle switch running to the starter and it starts it up every time. Hope this helps. Im kinda new but thats just what I had to do.

I'm wondering if you could pop the door panel off and clean the contacts to the key solenoid and then try the unlock/lock trick to see if that fixes it.

checked all that and everything comes up fine...if i can find the wiring diagram of the security system(anti theft deterrent)i can install a switch in between so i can start the car and also to clarify things, pulling the two fuses which is dome and radio allows you start the car.

i couldent find the problem so for those that have this and still want to keep the factory alarm i had devised a way to bypass only the starter as if disarming at the door locks does not work.if any question about system just ask.

sorry if this has been done already but just trying to help out as i found nothing and maybe someone else can also put this into good use.

^ This. In fact the question was answered in the post before yours. Same thing but without the switch. However since the system is simple and thus easily repaired why anyone would defeat it is beyond me.

Not sure what you were getting at but in the interest of accuracy there are four switches in each door and of those the ones on the jamb for operating the courtesy lights have nothing to do with the alarm.
