Well I am finishing up my interior so it is time to selects some seats. Just to let you know my interior is completly black now. I had the dasd dyed black, I order black replacemnt carpet, I have a guy coming to replace my head liner this weekend and I am in the process of dying alot of trims pieces. I am very happy with the way it is turning out! Anyway I am looking for a good set of seats something the will support a harness and be comfortable. The only seats I can find are going to cost me $400-600 per seat with no brackets!!! There has to be a reasonable alternative!! Well any recommendations or tips would be great!!

Are you looking for buckets or reclineable seats? If you don't need FIA certification, then you can find cheaper seats than that. But you're probably still going to end up spending close to 400/seat for anything decent. Unless you go with cheap ebay stuff, but those seats are weak and flimsy.

What about the Recaro's from the TT-R? Jarco has a full interior on Ebay right now but you could get those re-upholstered.

Buckets or reclineable it really doesn't matter and I am not sure if I will need the FIA Certifications. I plan on taking the car to open track days everytime I get a chance but I am not sure what the rules are concerning seats, but I guess to be on the safe I should try to get seats with the certifictions. What about something like this http://www.corbeau.com/products/a4/a4.shtml#

What do you mean look like shit? Design wise? Not your taste? Beaten from use? Nothing lasts forever. Elaborate.

I already said why the ebay seats suck in my post above. They're flimsy and weak. For example, trying to get something out of your pocket while in a bucket seat, a cheap seat will flex really bad no matter how well it is bolted in place, a good seat may still flex a little but, but it is nowhere near as bad. And this is just from you leaning back on the seat. Imagine any kind of impact or higher load.

If you're doing track days, just suck it up and spend the money on a decent seat. It's definitely worth it for a car that will see the track. There are some cheaper decent seats out there as well, like sparco and other companies have steel framed seats, they aren't that light, but they're still about 60lbs less than a stock seat and some people don't like the way they fit, but that's up to you.

I would go and find a place that sells seats and go sit in them, finding an awesome and comfortable seat that you have sat in will make you more willing to spend the money rather than getting a cheap seat and then trying to pawn it off on someone when you realize you want something better.

And I'm not a fan of those corbeau seats at all. They seem to fit weird, they're heavy and ugly. But that's just my opinion.
