As sum1 said before, there ARE metal caps!
As for a side question, how does the polish look like? Does it contain like sand or sumtin nad you have to polish it like for hours and hours, so the surface gets shiny and smooth, or is it just a couple of minutes job, to get the good shiny effect (not talking about chrome, but chrome looks sweeeeeeeeeeet:icon_bigg )?

Just an FYI, plastic and almost anything can be chromed, so if the original owner of Clinton's car had his wheels chromed there's no reason not to have the caps chromed at the same time metal or plastic. They do look Sweet Chromed

on mine... just the top of the center cap is metal... but the sides of the cap that encompasses the lugs are plastic.

I also noticed that my friends wheels had tiny machined grooves when he tried to polish them... but I don't think mine do.

Hmmmmm...

Yours do too Squirrel, its just that the way Toyota paints them they arent evident. I to wasnt expecting grooves until I stripped em and saw em for my self.

crappy picture, but edited the sawblades so they matched the crappyness.... looks pretty cool.

damn, just called the only local electroplating company and they wont do wheels.... grr why the hell not it's the same as any other metal...
