Ok, so I'm in a little bit of a dilemma right now. It seems that ALL of my money is going into my Supra. On one hand I get a ton of enjoyment out of working on it and driving it...but on the other I would like to spend my money on other things. My birthday was last week and I got a little bit of extra money...this is money that isn't in any of my budgets, just sort of in money limbo haha. And I want to buy one of those Nintendo DS lites... but I keep thinking that I should just save the money in case something goes out on the Supra. (The clutch will probably be the next thing to go...just waiting for it to happen)

I wouldn't be so concerned about this like 2 weeks ago, but I just lost my daily driver yesterday. My brother just graduated from Wyotech and he's movin out to Washington State and is going to drive from Florida...right now he has a ratty old CD7 Honda Accord that's on it's last leg so I gave him my car...2002 Pontic Sunfire. And now my Supra will be my DD until I (well my parents cuase lord knows I'm not paying to get that thing up to par) get this Accord into good condition.

Anyway, what do ya'll think...should I splurge a little or save the money for a rainy day??

Haha damn you people and your good points!

I wouldn't say that I'm hurting for money.....but I'm by no means swimming in money either, heh...I've already got a few hundred set aside for this thing should anything happen. I'll probably hit the budget again and see what I have...but most likely will end up just putting this into the save pile. Thanks for the advice :bigthumb:

Thanks for the offer to help on the clutch, but I actually have a Spec clutch waiting to go in, but I do want to replace the flywheel whenever I put the clutch in. Think you could help me with that at some point?

Even if you spent it on the supra, you'll still be spending it on yourself. So enjoy!

I don't understand, why should you buy Nintendo or smt. just to play silly games? Isn't playing computer games really ment for kids? I like saving money for some bigger and more important things IMO. I'm out of the age "oh I need a better computer to play new games" and I think the car is more important and bigger thing :icon_bigg
just my opinion:icon_razz Much success in whatever you do!

I happen to be a college student...that does not live on campus, so parking is a b*tch...but has class and labs spread out from morning to night. Which means I spend hours everyday just sitting and waiting. There's only so much studying I can do and during the school year it isn't very practical for me to blow all of my money on the Supra as I really only have time to drive it to and from school. The DS would give me a break from boredom, studying and monotony. And I happen to like other things in life than cars...to me maybe videogames are "bigger and more important" than maybe they would be to you. And it has nothing to do with wanting "needing a better computer to play new games"...I don't have ANYTHING to play games on. SHEESH :aigo:

And s!ke: I happen to be a nintendo fan boy, haha...they still focus on gameplay and content and not just graphics in my eyes

the average gamer is now 33 years of age.
Games for kids? LOL
actually there are less of those out now and less come out every year.
take this as an example. you like watching movies right? well of course you do, everyone does.
a game is a movie, but you get to be one of the characters and act out how the movie goes along.
that help?
Pick up F.E.A.R. then tell me if its for kids.

I got to go with fix it when it breaks!!! Dont buy a gaming sytem put the money away for when you need it for whatever. If you still want a system in a few months you should have the money for that and whatever else. Living paycheck to paychecks sucks no car or gaming system is worth that, so put some money away for you. What about dating and girls?????
Also, You gave your brother a sunfire??? What did he ever do to you to deserve that???? Goodluck!!!!!

Been there, done that. My advice: 1) sit down and analyze your priorities. What would you like to have more? 2) Buy a DD asap, or the Supe will mess your budget up with stuff breaking/wearing out all the time, and or thieves messing with it.

A best buy credit card could solve your problems. Thats what I did anyways. They have excellent payment plans and usually no interest for 3-6months. Gives me money for my car and to get the things I want.

Haha, well I didn't so much have a say in it. My parents got me the car as a graduation gift after I graduated High School (they got it for next to nothing, haha). So it was really their car...I bought my Supra so they couldn't really tell me to give him that...and they wanted him to have a more reliable car out there. So out of my hands it went and into his. PLUS...I don't have to say I drive a Sunfire anymore...I do believe that car has lost me some dates, hehe.

Haha, for right now that's a more risky investment than the freaking DS!!! The last date I went on I ended up spending almost $150 and all I got out of the deal was a night of awkwardness and a "thanks for tonight." Haha...girls are expensive...probably more so than the Supra...

Anyway, I redid my budget today, and I had done the original one back in like March so I had a few months of overestimated (I usually round up to the nearest hundred when it comes to paying bills...if something is gonna be between $50-90 I usually just will call it $100) bills and whatnot and I now have way more money than I was expecting. If I were to buy a DS I'd still have over $600 set aside for the Sup and like $200 for food and gas. I just have to make it til mid August when school starts and I'll be rollin in dough! But anyway I decided to just save the money and I'm probably gonna trade the accord to a friend for a pickup truck :naughty:
