Dilemma dilemma. I start to tune open loop only to find out that I'm still running 17psi. I thought that by taking off the manual boost controller I would run around 12psi assuming the WG spring was rated as such. Well, it's not. Now that I've turn the fuel pressure down it'll lean out at 17psi. Hose from turbo the WG is connected and doesn't appear to be damaged. It is a little long though. I'll have to shorten it and check for any defects. I'm thinking the WG spring is crapping out. I can still tune for closed loop and partial boost, but I can't get into it. I can still make the cruise just to cruise, but no WOT jaunts for me. I need to get another spring soon.

Well... I'm done. I won't be making it out to the December fun run this Saturday. I went nosing around with the wastegate to find out that the diaphragm inside is warped. It's allowing air to escape from the top port to the side port, and vice versa. That WG is done, and isn't regulating boost like it should. I need to get another one. Even if I were to order one tonight I wouldn't get to my house in time. I'm bummed out.

Got your voice mail and now your message. I told you not to go nosing around until after we got back from the cruise!!! That really sucks though, I was pretty excited myself about you going. I was finally going to have a fellow MK3 Supra to tag along on a cruise with me  I'm thinking about not going myself now too................

I ended up not going either. My uncle from California surprised us and we ended up going sight seeing and what not around town. I think I am gonna go to that Paul Walker cruise after all, the car count so far is over 600 and climbing so it should be interesting........

This is the route they have mapped out for the Paul Walker Cruise on Dec. 22nd. It looks like a good route as there should be just about no traffic lights and everyone has been warned about acting stupid. Although i don't doubt somebody will still try something seeing how the count is now up to 653 people. I'm going to go with a few friends so I'm just gonna stick in my group to prevent any problems. If half of the people that have signed up show up it will definitely make it an interesting cruise.

I was looking online since I was positive there have been similar cruises or meet done and these came up

Tribute cruise over in Brazil

On this video it was apparently at the crash site and they took all the cars that Paul Walker drove through out the Fast series.

How was the cruise? Everything went good without a hitch? How long did it take to complete that route? What did you guys do after the cruise... hit up on a nudie bar?
The meeting point was over by DeZalvala and a lot of cars, trucks, and bikes showed up; the count was well over 700. There were some nice cars out in the meet and for the most part people were behaving since there was a couple of off duty police officers keeping everybody in check as well as people from the event itself. The cruise should have just been left as a meet rather than a cruise because the cruise itself was poorly organized and everybody was confused about what was going on, where to go, or who to follow. Although a lot of the blame was not the people that organized it but rather that some people were just plain dumb about what to do on a cruise since everyone had been updated about the route with maps but no one seemed to care enough to look at it so many people were saying they got lost and didn't know where to go. People were also told many times on the page that burn outs and revving of the engines were not allowed but of course the V6 mustang crews showed up and f'd that up as they were rolling out of the parking lot. Before the cruise even started there was a wreck in the parking lot, where a person not part of the event hauled ass to get out of the parking lot (probably out of frustration of all the 700+ cars in the lot) and ended up hitting someones car. There was also the issue with traffic since they planned to roll out at 4pm but no one was set as a lead car or at least some sort of organization of how the 700+ cars out of the parking lot; so pretty much everyone pulled out of their parking spot and were stuck. They didn't start to clear up until after about 45 minutes of just sitting in the car. I left at the very end of the pack with a few friends to stay away from all the "racers" and the cops; i also didn't want to waste my gas idling my car. When we finally rolled out, it was about 5:30 or so so and it seemed like 5 o'clock traffic although it was a Sunday. The part of the highway where we were supposed to get on was also in construction so the traffic was heavier as well. As soon as i got on the highway there was a Civic wrecked on the side of the road where it seemed he had rear ended someone. I got on the Zello app (which is pretty much a walkie talkie function for your phone) and listened to what was going on and being said over the radio. It wasn't good........ some people were getting pulled over for having their hazards on too long, some for speeding, some for racing, some for no reason, and some were even clocked at over 120mph trying to get away from the cops. That's when my friends and i decided to cut my cruise short and started to head back to the end point instead of following the route. Needless to say the guy that organized the event was pretty pissed at how everyone was screwing around and getting into trouble. When i got back to my friends we got a bite to eat at a Chinese restaurant and then shot some pool/darts at Fox and the Hound which was at the same shopping center. I was still listening to the people on the Zello app and they migrated to the Vineyard after security at the shopping center told them they couldn't stay there any more.

All in all it was an ok meet/cruise. I haven't downloaded the pics and video from the cruise onto my laptop yet but will soon. They are having another meet but this time at the drag strip on the 8th i think. Ill get the details and post them here soon.

We all know ass hattery was going to ensue. Hell, 1% of 700 is 7 complete morons doing stupid shit. It's just going to happen.
I'll never understand why car meets have to happen at outdoor shopping strip parking lots. Nobody, or very minimal, car meet goers support any of the vendors around. All they do is block those who do use the parking lot to actually shop. It's almost as if they pick a place just to be seen by the public, when the public doesn't give a damn about neat cars littering the parking lot.
Paul Taylor field house has one hell of a parking lot that would have housed all the cars, and when you leave the place you'd have access to Loop410 without one traffic light. Hell, Westlakes Mall parking lot has plenty of parking with ease of accesss to Loop410 as well, and that parking lot is usually dead. Its just not fancy or cool though.
It seem like everything went ok though.

Oh, and of course traffic was going to be hectic. It was the Sunday before Christmas and you guys decided to cruise when most people were done shopping and heading home. It doesn't seem like the location, or time of the event was well thought out.

They did try and get something going on the outskirts of San Antonio and the Westlakes Mall parking lot was brought up since the route was originally supposed to circle 1604 but there were too many people with opinions and the owners of the mall had refused to let us get together there. Yummi Berry is a place where they host meets weekly and agreed to taking on heat from the other businesses for that day so i can understand why they settled on that spot, but yes a lot of things were not taken into consideration like picking the date, location, route, construction, lead cars, and how to get all the cars out of the lot without causing a major traffic jam.

They have been saying that they want to make it a yearly meet so who knows, maybe next year they'll work out some of the kinks and make it more enjoyable. In all honesty it wasn't too bad and it definitely could have been a lot worse, but it does make me appreciate the time and planning Marc (the guy that organizes the lime creek and twisted sisters cruise) puts in to make it work.

Here is the info regarding the meet coming up at the drag strip:
Every first Wednesday of the month we will have a track night. This will give everyone a chance to get there burning out racing and revving there engines out so they do not have to at Supremesmoke San Antonio smokes every Wednesday night. We will meet off 410 and san pedro at the sears parking lot at 6pm. At 7pm we will all cruise to the track. At the track we will have a car show, which will have trophies for best of show 1,2, and 3erd place and most participation car club. They will have track runs and king of streets race going which is only $15. We are also currently working on getting them to allow drifting so more info to come soon.

Prices are as fallow.
To get in with car for show or just to look $10.
A full car load $20 Includes Racing.
Race $15

A full car load $20 includes racing is insanely cheap! I once took my friend, his son & friend and myself to race last time I was out there and it cost a total of $65 that night. It was $15 to spectate, and $20 to race.

I guess I shouldn't complain. I'm sure Marc goes through a lot to organize these events, and his efforts shouldn't go unnoticed. He should consider Paul Taylor field house lot since it's always open, and empty most of the time. I'm sure he can get permission to host events there. Very easy access to Loop410 eastbound, and IH10 is minutes away.

Anyhow, I'm waiting for this Christmas smoke to clear to buy the wastegate I need. I'd love to find bigger injectors, but that's going to happen later. It seems like I always need to buy stuff for my car during the holidays.
