S2 Fenders - Group buy?

I think your pricing from S2 is wrong. Unless their website is wrong, the fronts are 62000 yen and the rears are also 62000 yen. With current exchange rates that would put them both around $560, so $1120 plus shipping for the set. So if shine can come in at about half S2's price, then I'm in for fronts and rears. But if it's going to be over $1k for fenders, then that's a little too much.

Also, does anyone know if the fronts are 35mm wider than the US fenders or are they 35mm wider than the narrow body fenders? If they're 35mm wider than the narrow body then what's the width difference between the narrow and the US. The translation on S2's site sucked, so it didn't really make any sense what they were trying to say, but they mentioned a 9" wide front wheel for some reason. So if they aren't much wider than the US fenders, then it's probably not worth it.

I'm just estimating for now since exchange rates fluctuate.

I just spoke with Ken to clarify a couple of things.

1. He assumes that 62000 yen is for a pair. (I assumed it was only for one side.) Does anyone have first hand information from an S2 representative? Where is Emission when you need him?
2. We also discussed pricing. He said that he will be selling the fenders for about $400 to $500 for a pair + shipping.

I've never seen aftermarket fenders sold individually. Everyone else sells them as a pair, so I don't know why S2 would be different.

So 4-500 from Shine for a pair, is that MSRP? Or is that what he would sell them on here for?

He would sell here for $400 to $500 per pair + shipping.

Apparently S2 doesn't sell to North America. He may have huge trouble even getting a set. Kaze on the other hand ships fast! They cost a lot more but I had them within 2 weeks when I ordered online.

Another thing to remember is that wider rears mean you must modify your rear bumper and sideskirt to match it. It is inevitably huge amounts of bodywork.

Essentially, you need contacts in Japan, which Ken has. For example, I had someone from Japan buy my S2 mirrors.

From the appearance of the S2 rear widebody, there will be no need to modify the rear bumper and sideskirts, but this is true for the Kaze rear fenders.

You had to modify your Styleauto sideskirt because you have the Kaze widebody rear quarter, but didn't use the Kaze sideskirt, which is needed to so that the fender flows with the car.

lol, I'm at work. I'll get back at you Rodel.

EDIT:

560.00 for Pair fronts rears are 3.5 cm wide
560.00 for Pair rears 4 cm wide

If the group buy takes too long I'll have to get them myself.
A replica off mine?

Ken won't do a replica unless there is a group buy. Thanks for the info!

Where are the serious players at? The ones that will do the crazy body work and transform their cars? In the past, I saw a lot of members raving about wanting the S2 widebody fenders. Who's actually gonna step up?

Psh you know how it goes. No one is actually going to step up. When do you think these would be coming out. Because I would be in for fronts but I have other large items to buy first.

So those are Kaze? Are you cutting out that gigantic fender lip in there? Or were those overs designed so you can run stock ride height and keep the sun off your rear wheels?
Haha, it looks that way. We ended up cutting out the stock metal body fender lip and the lip on the overfender. We then bowed it out for another inch of width. For safety I wanted to not worry about my tires hitting anything if I'm doing 140 and hit a huge dip in the road that fully compresses my suspension.

Yup...a lot of talk from many guys in the forum, but no action when it comes to actually buying stuff.

Emission, being the nice guy he is, could get the originals for himself, then let Shine borrow it. Not sure when he'll be getting the parts.

Usually, when Shine puts the project on their to do list, they get the mold completed within 2-4 weeks. Then they make a few sets each week. Shine would like to sell at least 10 sets. After the mold is done, 10 sets would probably take 3-4 weeks to complete.

Well YES. I was thinking of getting myself one and letting ken borrow your set. lol!!! :naughty: :biglaugh:
I have a friend leaving Sunday, But I doubt he will be able to bring back a few sets as carry on luggage. lol

EDIT:

560.00 for Pair fronts rears are alittle less then 1' 1/2 Wider
560.00 for Pair rears a bit more then 1' 1/2 Wider

Here's an example of my set up If I where to go wider.

18x10 -16 offset Front
18x10 -21 offset Rear

okay I was calculating proper wheel width mins ago and came up with my BALLER offset for the widebody.

18x12 -20 front offset
18x12 -26 rear offset

I've done it before and I can do it again with a full even offset like 12's neg 26 offset on all 4 corners!

Don't quote me on the front cause thiers alot of testing to be done and steering lock to lock has to be tested.

lol and rodel wanted to go 11's in the rear.:naughty:

NEGATIVE OFFSET CREW

Just for you Rodel if you where to go 11's

18x11 -12 rear offset.
18x11 -6 front offset

11s? I wanna go 12s now. The 545s are going to HRE for resizing. :aigo: Whether or not this group buy goes through, 12s are gonna get stuffed back there somehow.

I'm only changing the outer rim. Inner rim and center will be reused. So I'll end up with a 12" +36 offset. If this won't work, the narrowest that I wanna go is 11.5" +36. I"m not sure about the 12"s, but I think the 11.5"s will fit in the S2 fender.

But my HREs that I own now won't be getting that offset after its been widened. Remember, 12" +36.

Yes. Outer rim only. I'm on 9.5 +36. So after it gets widened, it will be either 11.5+36 or 12+36
