I have yet another question pertaining to fuel injectors.

I have been searching for months on the various options for 550cc injectors that are direct fit into the 7MGTE. (I would like to finally complete my fuel sytem upgrade this spring hopefully!)

Im looking into this option right now... the injectors from the first half of the
'87 model year of the Mazda RX-7 Turbo II.

I believe the injectors that were offered the first half of 87 are 550cc low impedence and also plugs right into the harness.

A fellow SM member directed me to this website that sells the rx7 injectors.

http://www.mazdatrix.com/c-6.htm

Anyone used these with success?
Is this information correct and is the injector listed below the one I want?
86-87 1/2(turbo model) model number: 13-2500-N318

I havent used them but I have allways heard they are actually better than RCs, PTEs ect. I would get them cleaned and flowed before using them if you pick up a used set. Denso makes really high quality injectors.

Well i bought RX7 550 cc injectors off of a member on here, I have a spare wiring harness, and the clips wouldnt fit on the Rx7 injectors. I really thought they were plug and play. I also contacted another member on here, and he also told me he had to buy clips for them to work. My injectors have the same part number as listed in the first post. :aigo:

I dont know, maybe the injectors connector has to be modfied a little? I heard something about shaving the top of the injector notch? :1zhelp:

Thanks Shaeff...I already read that and had that link bookmarked.

I don't understand why some guys have had no problems with these injectors being a direct fit into the wiriing harness and others have had to modify it or get a new harness?

Maybe because the same part number was used for several injectors so you really didnt know which one you were getting?

Thanks for the info everyone.

After learning about SM members past headaches and regrets, I will go with RC's or suprasport customs.

Thanks everybody

ND made some low impedance 550s which are direct fit for the MKIII's fuel rail. Their part number is: 195500-1370. BE CAREFUL! for some reason ND used this same part number for their high impedance 450cc injector too. How do you distingush between the two? Look at the notch on the top of the injector connector-if it is in the center its low impedance, if its offset to the side, its high impedance.

The reason some are direct fit, and some are not. :naughty:

as mentioned above I've been using the Low Imped Rex injectors for over a year now. I picked them up from various Rx-7 forums for next to nothing. sent them out to get cleaned (most expensive part) and dropped them in. yes I shaved my injector clips a little to hold them but since then. no problems. however Driftmotion does sell clips that'll work perfectly w/ these, and since your reasoning for going w/ the RC's was that you didn't want the head ache involved w/ that. well hello, you're going to have to cut and solder new clips on any way. might as well pick the ones that are a) cheaper b)perform better then alot of the options out there (*there is no scientific data on this claim, and has not been proven by the FDA) I've yet to have a problem w/ these injectors and they've been able to flow what i've needed w/ no worries.

I have used them in the past with great success. For them (the injectors) to plug into our harness (7mGTE) you have to grind or cut off the small plastic alignment tab on injector where the harenss plugs into. It takes less than 10 sec. to cut it off. After that they are plug n' play.
