3.0: Damn, thoes are pretty cheap...although I might opt for the prewired EV1/Bosch clips I mentioned earlier...I'm not sure if I want to trust my wiring/soldering skills haha.

hvyman: That is the general consensus. You can use high impedance in a low impedance system, but not vice versa...so I guess we can use either or. More than enough current is being delivered to open the high impedance injectors in a low impedance circuit...but as for repercussions/oddities in operation I don't want to guess because I honestly don't know haha.

Below is some information sent to me by Rod Hiorns

Mazda RX7 Denso 460 injectors are labelled 195500-1350 (both low and high resistance models).
Mazda RX7 tan top Denso 550 injectors are low resistance with a center notch in the electrical connector.
Mazda RX7 purple top 550 injectors are high resistance with an offset notch on the electrical connector.
Both of these 550 injectors are marked 195500-1370.


I guess the bottom line is be sure of what injector you are installing in your engine!

WARNING:
http://www.injectorservices.com/injectflow.htm notes that part number 195500-1370 is used by Denso for both of their low- and high-resistance 550 cc/min injectors. Be sure to measure injector resistance before installation.

Yup like drag racer said you can high run the high impendance ones with no mods. Been running them since 2001...No clips they bolt and clip right on

Just remember the ones you usually see for sale are these: 195500-2020. This number is cast on the injector housing below the clip. They are high imp and will work no questions.
Mike is running them, I ran them, and I put a set on a local car here. And I sold two other sets.

There is a set of low imp in the classifieds right now.

Those are not for a turbo rx7 so are probably 450cc

Mmshay, according to this website (http://www.fuelinjector.citymaker.com/MAZDA_FUEL_INJECTORS.html) the injectors labelled 842-12175 and 195500 2020 are the same...one is an SKU and the other is something else I guess. So, http://www.injectorwhse.com/servlet/the-18671/1989-dsh-92-MAZDA-RX7-1.3L/Detail has them (I just searched for 12175 and the Mazda one came up, along with VW injectors and some others) and there we go.

Should be $35 each plus $12 shipping, no matter the size of your order. Orders above $100 will ship next day air, no charge. I'm taking this off of their website (home page, bottom right) and haven't ordered through them yet but I plan to. I have to find out if they send flow charts with the injectors or not. No they aren't new, they are remanufactured, but as long as it is done right it shouldn't be a problem...plus a 2 year/24k mile warranty. Best I've found so far.

edit for clarity: Those injectors I linked are the high impedance, 550cc injectors that clip right into our harness, like we discussed in the above few posts.

I'm pretty sure all N/A injectors are 460cc, so the S5 T2 injectors are the way to go. S5 plugs == our harness, S4 == the older ones...had to look it up just to make sure http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=885092

So from what i learned and SEARCHED so far the low imp 86-87.5 rx7 turbo II aka s4 injectors come in tan and purple top. I have looked in a couple of online site and parts store. The 86 to 5/ 87 are showing purple. Check out the link shown to verify the purple fact.

They did the same to me when I ordered a week or so ago...said they needed cores and didn't know when they'd be in stock again. Looks like I'll have to find another place.

Nice link, websites are sourcing about the same prices....Rockauto has them ~$40 but remanned...wonder if they'll send a flow sheet for each injector.

You should always have the injectors flow tested to make sure they are true 550s.....

Subscribing to this. I have NO IDEA where to start into for when I'm ready to improve my fuel injectors, and at least there is enough info in this thread for a start.

Due to what I've read, I understand more about impedance, but have not found anything yet on cc's, like what to prepare for in getting higher cc injectors (other than 550's), or what good does it do to get injectors higher than 550cc's. I would imagine a good SAFC that is adjustable based on the type of injectors that are being run, a good O2 wideband sensor system with gauge, followed by either the Lexus AFM for 550's or the MAFT system that eliminates the need for the AFM and an improved fuel pump (Supra MK4 being the best choice).

Is there ONE SOURCE for all of this info that brings a greater understanding to what people are doing to these engines (as a reference on fuel systems)? There needs to be. Everything from what is necessary to improve the 7M fuel system based on levels/goals, to what NOT TO DO, and for how all this goes together to make it work properly, as well as troubleshooting problems and common mistakes. Not exactly idiot-proof, but relatively close to it anyway.

There's a core fee, I'm assuming you don't have used injectors...which means you'll be paying $70 for each injector. I'd find some used ones for cheap, and get them flow tested and new grommets/o-rings from fuel injector clinic or something like that.
