And, a bigger cooler!

I can see not having an EGR on a full race motor that's running full out...on a street machine, different story ;)

well

funny that you mention that.

On another forum that me and IJ frequent. We learned that the Mitsubishi Evo has an EGR based ALS system! :eek: I was like. What??

But infact it does.

in short. No need for a blow off valve. Divert the pressurized air into the exhaust via EGR or EGR like system, inject some fuel (no where near as much as the "old" ALS system) and light it and you have an ALS that does not "bang-bang" as loud as the old style but still produces a good amount of force to keep the turbo spinning.

btw

check this out also

same company (Mahle)...

I wondered how they got that idea....

They are the parent company of Cosworth!

Read page 8 of 12. Very intresting stuff there!

Remember

Exhaust gases are inert.

This part isn't completely inert:
2(CO) + O2 -> 2(CO2)

Thanks a lot for those links, btw.
EGR systems are a lot more clever than I thought. It really opened my eyes.
