alright i installed my 1j and for starters this was my first engine swap. im having issues with it running. 1st its misfiring and i have checked almost everything there is to check for a misfire. 2nd it doesnt rev past 2200 rpm without braking up and almost stalling. i checked crank sensor and its working properly. cam sensor connectors had oil in them so i cleaned them out and put them back in but still didnt run right. any other ideas of what i should check? any help would be much appreciated!!!!

for one get some contact silicone and apply it to all your connectors, two you need to explain more of what you checked and did, Three did you have the capacitors in your ECU Changed?
I would look closely at the connectors going to the coils, especially on #1 if it's misfiring. If they're damaged in ANY way, replace them all.
no the caps in my ecu have not been changed to my knowledge, and i checked plugs, crank sensor, and voltage coming out of igniter... im not sure how to check the coils, so that could be the problem. bad news is while doing a compression check last night one of the coils had an internal short and fried itself. so that was probably causing the misfire but what about the revving issue?
have the Caps in the ECU changed, it should be done no matter what, the ones that are in there are way told old and most should have died or failed by now
I don't know the part number, but you can get the 2JZ coil connectors at the dealership. They're a new design over the 1JZ ones, and clip in much tighter. Plus, all 6 are <$50bobiseverywhere said:

If the guy starts telling you that the parts a rare or hard to get / it's going to cost a boat load like more then $100 - $125 parts and labour go somewhere else
