Today I got my A/C running again blows cold, replace almost every hose and a brand new compressor but i did notice that my car was running 190 degrees in this texas heat without A/C, but i drove it about 30 mins and notice that it was running alot hotter about 210 degrees, I got a fluidyne radiator with flex a lite fans, is there a bigger radiator for our cars that mite lower the temperture??:1zhelp:

It's the Flex a lite fans. That is the very reason that I have not put them on my car as of yet. In TX it's so hot and the stock fan works much much better. Have you checked your thermostat as well? I run a 160* thermostat honestly to keep my temps down. I drive my car 30 miles one way to work in traffic and get on it all the time and mine stays cool.

A 160 stat is a bit cold...you want the coolant temps between 180 and 210 deg F.

xms - do you have an A/C condensor fan installed? What temp do the Flex-a-Lite's come on?

I use that and my temps with my Koyo race radiator are about 195 and 205 when at the strip.

With 100+ temp all the time here and driving in traffic for 30 miles each way it gets really warm. When I had the 180 in there it would cruise about 215 and 230 at the track and that is why I went with the 160 tstat.

noticed the same thing with mine yesterday after 30 minutes in 5 o clock traffic. 2-210 by the time i got home with the ac on. Fluidyne rad. as well! im going to fab up an undercover from the front lip to the rad support this weekend and try and get that area all sealed off. Otherwise im a bit lost as everything has been checked out and tested (coolant, lines, rad,. fan...)

What type of levels of timing retard are needed to begin to affect engine temp? will a few degrees do it or is a drastic level needed?

I dont have one do to the size of my greddy intercooler it's almost 5" thick
and the fans are wired to come on as soon as the car starts. I got the car without A/C and with this texas heat I just to have it, it run fine without A/C about 190 but when turn on it creeps to 220, I just think thats little hot even thought the stock temp guages does'nt really move.

What's weird is when I would drive my car 3+ hours one way with the AC on, temps wouldn't ever get very high. Anyone that knows me know's that I don't ever cruise when in my car! I don't have a condenser fan so that's kinda weird.

I have the OEM Fan clutch/Thermostat/Radiator/FanShroud. The sensors for the condensor and Radiator Fan are missing. So i just run a 2 switchs inside the car, i turn both of them on as soon as the car gets warm.

I can have the a/c running for about 20mins in miami,fl [[HOT]]] and the gauge would start moving up more then half way. When i turn off the a/c the temp goes back down. Now my problem wasn't the fans [[[since i have both of then running]]]

i had a coolant leak 1. heater hose 2. turbo coolant line. The cooling pressure tester told me so! lol So now it holds pressure no leaks! NOw i can drive 80mph with the A/C on High THe Gauge would move alil still under the halfway mark......

------From what i understand running the A/C in a hot climate creates more heat under the hood so dont be suprise to see the gauge move a few lines MAKE SURE UR NOT BLEEDING COOLANT missing the Condensor FAN is KIlling you

Seriously, just get a stock fan and a fan clutch and be good to go. I ran with out a shroud for 2 years, and now going to put it back on finally this week doing my rebuild. You just did a rebuild hopefully everything is ok with it.

How do yall know if you're running 190 or 210? Do you have aftermarket temp gauges? My stock gauge stays at the halfway point no matter what the temp is outside. Yesterday I drove to the airport from home, about 45 miles, 104 degrees outside, a/c on, and it still stayed at halfway point. Of course mines all stock with all the essential fans working.

60mm prosport electric water temp guage its alot more accurate then the factory one

Where is the sensor installed?

Thermostats housing, I think I finally figured out how to get my temps down, I took off the radiator today and it look like i can put a pair of 10 electric fans behind the condenser making pull setup, so I will do this tommrow end see if this bring down the temp of the car.
