LuvMySilverSupra said:i deal with a lot of this at work, but i think it's sad that you guys all catagorize people you deal with based on their race.
we have 5-6 huge signs that point where people are supposed to bring their car. but they still have to stop, and come and ask me, or honk at me to get me to go over there to help them. the thing is that they're not even my customers. i work with the hotels, but my office is in our garage. it has a big sign on my office saying that i work with the hotels, and to pull the car forward where all the signs point to go. but everyday i get people stopping in the entrance, blocking the way in and the way out, because they want me to hold their hand and read the signs for them. then we get people pulling into the exit, and trying to drive upstairs, ignoring the employee only signs, and trying to park their own cars. but the worst of the people who drive in are the ones who ignore the huge signs outside that say parking garage, and the one next door that says alamo/nation rental car return here. they come in and try to return the rental car to me.
but i also deal with rude people who walk in. they ignore the cashier office and the signs that to go there to pick up your car, retrieve an item from your car or ask any questions. they still have to come and try to give me their ticket and then give me an attitude when i cant help them and tell them to go to the cashier. i also get people trying to rent a car from me. "i have a reservation to rent a car" those people i get to mess with though. "does my shirt say alamo on it?" "oh, so you can read, then how about you go read the huge banner above that office over there there that says alamo rental office" other times i say ok, take hte paper, and start pretending the phone is a computer keyboard. "the computer must be down, maybe because i dont have one"
if you ask me which race is the rudest to me at my job, i couldn't tell you, just that it's fun to be rude back sometimes.
ROFL dude. At least you only have to deal with stupid people the majority of the time. I categorize them like that because they come in droves like that.
Here's 2 funnies that have happened to me:
An older Mexican woman comes up to me and starts going off in Spanish. I'm standing there with a blank look. She's not pissed or angry, but she's going on and on about something. I'm like wait! Wait! Let me get an interpreter, this has got to be good. 30 seconds later she leaves, still jabbering on and I'm standing there going WTF was that? What just happened?
A small group of Mexicans, like 4-5 people are standing in front of me. I'm standing there staring back at them. No one's in line, I'm like yep, nobody in line, come on down! They're talking to each other trying to decide who to send up, and they send this youngish girl. She comes up to me, no English at all. Asks me something I can't understand. I'm like, nope I'm Asian, no Spanish here. She turns around and returns to the group and I guess her boyfriend or brother comes and and talks to me in rough English. Now I'm like, okay, you sent the person with no English whatsoever up first, yeah bad idea.
