what needs to be done to take the 1J to 8k, and still make descent power?
cams, springs, retainers, ECU, boost, and fuel?

j/k :biglaugh: i envy you.
It's dependant on boost pressure too. The more pressure in your intake manifold, the more pressure trying to push the valve open. This would be why Ric can take it up past 8 at half throttle, but it floats earlier at full throttle.Van Diesel said:I thought the stock springs were good to 8500?
Ric said:When I was stock twins, 8500 at WOT was the limit. Now its 7800 at WOT at just 12psi. I can't imagine what 18psi will do when i tune for that this weekend (yes, tranny swap finally taking place)
Ric said:1JZ's have useable power to 9500 with a correctly matched turbo and Jun cams, good springs, and retainers. Past 10, at least with the jun's and a stock head, there wasnt anything.
