I reved my 1jz to 7600 with crower 264 (272 small cores)... I didn't have springs/retainers, and it wasn't my engine any more so I didn't want to push it.. I dont think it would of made any more power above that though..

I've been paying more attention to my revvs this last week. My gauge is off (sc3) so I started reading my SAFC2 more, it seems accurate. I float mine at 7880ish rpms @ WOT. I've gone over 8, but not at WOT. It's very easy for me to over-revv with the GT40 and auto transmission. I normally keep it no more then 7000rpms top. I've been doing this for a year now.

Stock cams, springs, retainers.

Rudy @ MTR brought his 1jz testbed motor to 10k rpms on the dyno, but the power feel off alot. He said with JUN cams, it pulls nice to 9500.

wow at 7500 regularly, that's insane but cool. I rev it to 6k occasionally and but haven't had a chance to punch it at around 7k , don't know maybe I'm too nice to my 1j.

I rev mine to about 7300 when racing and it doesn't seem to fall off. I have 272 small core cams with stock springs.

Yeah, that's what I run for cams too. Here's a stock boost run I did with them:

Honestly, there seems to be no problems with the motor other then the fact that I know my rod bearing clearances are too big, and they're been like that since I got the motor. It's going down for a rebuild in a week so I'll take a look at it then, and see what it looks like revving to 7500 all the time. It sure does sound nuce up there though.

What ended up being your problem suprahero? I know you were in the mid to high 3's and were looking at timing, fuel, and some other grimlens. NICE numbers!

Those were nice numbers for stock boost! I have hit the rev limiter several times without problems, but I would be affraid to eliminate the limiter for fear of going past 8k...
