hey i got a lil issue
for the last week or so my motor has been idling lower and lower
i cant figure out why but at the moment it starts up and idles like its got some seriously aggressive cams in it it actually rocks the car back and forth.
now up until a week or so ago it was running fine idling smooth. now even when its been running for a while it has that rough idle like when i stop at a light
im just fishing for ideas as to what it could be

i recently changed all the vac lines and the spark plugs

thanks

let me give you my opinion on seafoam, that sh#$ REALLY WORKS.iv'e seen the proof.on my first head gasket job their was alot of carbon welded on the tips of my valves.after using SEAFOAM, on my 2nd head job do to not torquing the headbolts properly the seafoam cleaned the heck out of my valves. Not everybody has a chance to put seafoam in their car and want to take the engine apart to see if it worked.I had no choice and the results were amazing.

seafoam is terrible, don't use it.

If you put it in your oil, CHANGE IT NOW.

i put some in the gas tank some in the oil and the rest through a major vac line
i then ran the car till it stoped smoking
(found a leak in my exhaust)
then changed my oil and checked my spark plugs

and now the novice question
how do i pull codes i never did it b4 on the supra

Only tool you need is a paper clip :) Did you read the TSRM?

yea i did i just forgot to come back on right after and change that post

i pulled the codes and it just came up with a code 12
system: rpm signal
diagnosis:no "NE" of "G" signal to the ecu within 2 seconds after engine has been cranked

so in my diging in the engine bay i ended up bumping my hand against the the distributor cap while the engine was on and my hand hit the number 3 connection and to my supprise it shocked me
now i may just be ignorant but i had to find out if i was just going crazy, so i touched all the other ones and none of them shocked me so figuring that it was a fluke i touched the #3 connection again and lo and behold it shocked me again
at this point i had to laugh at myself.

so im looking into a new sparkplug wire set and a new distributor cap and rotor button
is there anything else that i should be looking at in relation to solving the issue that caused the code 12?
