What would the scammer have to gain?

I don't get these sort of ads. I see them all the time and don't see its purpose.

If the numbers are fake, is the person just doing it to be funny and/or annyoing to complete strangers?

That would be awesome!

And then when he steps out of the car, Duane and Nate crawl out too and pound his ass ;).

I thought we were leaving that for Bubba and Chiko in the federal penitentiary :icon_razz

I think I missed something here. I know craigslist can be chock full of scammers, but why Ron? Seriously WTF.

Ron isn't the scammer. Someone used Ron's picture as bait.

ya like MassSupra said, the scammers take a picture of a well known car in a community (prime example here is Ron's car), and make an ad for it, listing it for an extremely low price hoping a really young kid will see it and shit a brick at the thought that he could have that car for 2400 bucks. ive had a few people try to scam me when i was trying to sell my Firehawk a few years back. ended up having them arrested by the FBI, it was so much fun
