Are you saying you ARE a certified welder?

Not slamming you but they're some ugly ass welds if you are.
(uneven globby bad penetration and the surface rust won't be helping the integrity any, I've tested a steel cage unfortunately so have an idea how important it is to get it right)

A "certified" welder is a very broad category...what type of "certification"?

and yes i am ASME crtified

and till now all my cages pass nhra certification 8.50 and some 7.50

i do what my customer want and can pay for, if he ask for tig welds i did tig welds and trust me the welds were more clean that way, unfortunatelly i also was in a race crash before and inside one of my creations thanks God i walk away unharmed but i feel what you say.

trust me i have seen shity jobs, but i respect your opinion bro!

my beads never look like that, do you tack each part and eventually all the tacks make up a bead?

this technic is called stitch welding and is done like you said but it got to be in a continue non stop high heat range maner to mantain the proper consistency and penetration of the weld.

but like i said practice makes the diference!

As for cages, how much would people be looking at to say, put one in a Supra?

Ill answer your question with another, How fast do you want to go?

yeap thats very truth! you got to tell me whats the intentions on the car and whats the class u are going to run, i just play by the rules there is no way i will go arround them mate! than and just then we can talk about price,

just a baseline on my work;
6 point rollbars mild steel 1 5/8 x .120 mig welded will go from $900 and up that include all parts and labor.

same in chrome moly 1 5/8 x .049 tig welded starts from $1,800 and up

:aigo: i couldn't build someone else a cage, too much stress. i'll build one for myself and that's it.

looks like you do good work. i would like to see your tig welds though.

good luck.
