Toga from what I've picked up is the same as a GTE pump, higher volume that the GE.

No offence, but if I were you I'd do a lot of reading, here. If I would have known about SM and the expert advice that is given by the "Old shcool" guys, they know who they are :), I would have saved myself a wad of money and time.

I've really been looking into the whole JIS engine thing.

I've been looking into their company

http://www.jisengine.com/list-prices/html/26033.html
looks at specs, waht they do and etc. I'm going to give them a call tommorrow and just chat with them, and make sure they seem proper.

I'm going to give them a call tommorrow, how long as your boy had his honda engine?

Well I gave them a call today.

It's going to be 1850 with a 600 dollar core charge.(in other words, send them my engine, and they give meb ack 600)
So if I do that, that's only 1250.
They take engines(like mine if I were to give it to them) and basically rebuild them, with their own parts, and send it on a truck to a terminal(where I pick it up) It comes with the belts, timed and everything ready to be dropped in. One year warranty unlimited mileage. No warranty for overheated engines and failing water pumps.

Should I do it?

well i guess nobody really cares to put their input anymore but here's some of the specs for the motor im looking at from this guy

What I said before was that the piston ring gaps are .016 (thousands) and .018. The piston to cylinder wall clearance is .003.

that's what the specs are

yes, believe it or not I DID read that thread BEFORE I made this. I just went ahead and decided to make it anyways to see how nice this community is and to get a direct response.

If I'm not going to get help, I'd rather you just not respond.

Your right, I don't know what oversized valves is and what it's for... I'm sorry.

I know exactly what 272 cams are and what they do.

I have posted numerous times my hp goal, my plans, setup and etc... maybe you should read instead of telling me

If I do end up in that category, it doesn't bother me... I picked up the car for cheap... and this is only helping me further my knowledge... I really doubt anybody succeeds on the first try. (First time actually doing a rebuild for me) But since you insist, I'd really like to finish it to prove you wrong... but thanks for the 'dose of reality' Dr.phil.

Is it possible at all for you to not come in here and down my project? If you guy's cant encourage it then just don't help... it's not hard...

I don't care how 'oldschool' you are(I think that sticky in the first place is retarded) I never act like this when I'm a regular member/mod and respected on other boards that I post on...

nvm other forum not working, edit tommorrow

You notice how it seems you are now talking to yourself? It's because you are.

Your lack of basic knowledge, unwillingness to accept any criticism and your shit attitude has driven off all the knowledgeable members who were trying to help you. You've made it very apparent to us that we are wasting our time trying to help you.

For example your statements on 272 cams. If you actually did know what they did, you'd also know that for your build they aren't needed. But, as you've stated, you know, so we don't need to try to tell you.

There are other people who truly want to learn, don't give everyone shit who tries to help them and honestly try to help themselves by learning before wasting our time. Those people will have successful first builds, because they build them on the back of the knowledge we've accumulated over working with these cars for the last 23 years.

We will help those people and you are on your own. We'll stick to our "retarded" standards and you can do what you want.

And just as the others have apparently done, after I hit submit, I'm hitting unsubscribe and ignoring this thread going forward.

Good luck, you're going to need it.

pig as in not good?

here's his quote

"For the warranty, I will give you a 3 month warranty on labor only, that covers the assembling of the internal parts only. (pistons, rods, bearings) That is my word that the motor internally, is mechanically sound. That is clearences, torques and assembly. You are gona do the rest so that is all on you. For example, if you start it and somehow one of the rod bolts come off, thats on me.

I understand you concern, i really do, but believe me when I tell you that there isnt anything done to this block that wont be compatible with what you are doing. Also, this warranty thing is real risky for me aswell, which is why Im only warrantying certain aspects. There are alot of things that can happen to this motor. Never the less, you have me and Tony from Final Stage backing this motor. The 3 months start when I ship, I cant have you sitting on it for 6 month then install the motor and something go wrong. You seem very content about your project, 3 months is plenty of time."
