"Why are you worried about rod knock?"
because i own a 7m!! lol

You believe too much bullshit on the internet. Your engine may have been assembled wrong. If it is knocking after a rebuild. Did they use the correct select fit bearings?

well, may be someone going to kill me for such advice... but my opinion is very simple... Can you afford to open engine and rechek all measurements, clearences etc? If yes, stop driving right now and take your engine aprat.
If no (and your shop can't do it for you) - forget it. Drive till it blows!
You see... I have 7M engine with 16 psi and it knocks... I was trying to figure this noise out... adjusted valves, replaced rod bearings, shimmed and checked oil pump... but it still knocks... not actually knocks very loud but ticks - for sure...
Moreover... I was _very_ afraid that I have rodknock... I was browsing Internet and found some vidoes of rodknocking 7M... Well it knocked much louder than mine... so, I decided to run till it blows... Yes, I hear _ something_ but I'm not sure that it's rodknock... since I replaced my rod bearings I almost sure it is not rodknock... And what about you?
And one more thing... you may think your engine "ticks" while your engine actually "knocks very loud" - it's all too subjective (sp?).

PS: sorry for my English.. I'm drinking vodka with medved right now ;-)

England!
Lose crank pulley bolt?

I was almost sick when I heard my engine knocking, it turns out that it's (probably) just the crank pulley.

Hah, I love it!

Mr. Y - Your English is still better, even drunk, then many people who are supposed to speak it natively. ;)

lppro - You know that the spec for the crank pulley is 195 ft/lbs right? Putting a wrench on it isn't going to cut it.
