negative.....after listening to it it sounds more like its coming from the top end area. also is there any long term negative affects from just driving it with the knock? i dont have the money to rebuild it or anything.

Knocking in general indicates two things are hitting each other that shouldn't be.

If two metal things are banging together, they are likely releasing metal shavings into your oil.

Driving when the car is making bad sounds = bad.

Odds are it's probably too late, and you've probably damaged something to the point you are going to need to rebuild it anyway.

+1 even if it isnt rod knock, metal shavings in your oil will cause havoc with the rest of your motor. If you think its coming from the head the very least you should do is pull the valve covers and check it out. You might just need to put a few shims in there, or you might need a head rebuild. You'll never know unless you check. If you continue driving it like that you could make a small problem a really big (read: expensive) problem.

Edit: I tried to give you some rep SC but apparently you were the last person I gave it to, lol. Ill have to give it to you after someone else makes a good point.

That sounds like the same thing that happened to my old motor. It would only knock lightly and go away. I decided to drive it like that. Boy was i wrong. I thought it might be a lifter or cam making noise so i took the cams off . Surprise damage to all the cam surfaces. Put cams back in it changed oil kept driving it. Drove it home one day let it idle in the driveway than a rod broke hole in the oil pan and another rod bent. Took the engine out and nothing was good. Crank damaged beyond repair damage to block when rod broke damage to oil pan head other rod journals other rods so basically it was crap. Got another block put it toghether put it in the car 1000 miles later i got rod knock real light hardly audiblebut the car is sitting in my driveway engine out again. My recomendation shut down the motor unless you plan to get another block and head. Or costly engine repairs and take it to a reputable machine shop dont risk engine failure due to crap ass machinist. Hopefully its not to late. Or you will learn your lesson.

Cuando dos frentes de llama chocan en la cámara de combustión, los golpes ruidosos se oyen a menudo. Es diferente sin embargo de un cojinete hecho girar o anotó el pistón, que es metal que golpea el metal.
