rod knock, how long will an engine last?

Used to have long hair as a kid

worlds worst car related crap was getting gear oil in it
(I'm sure it's strained through a Yak's ass at the refinery)

Whoa, haha thanks for the memories, I too used to put mine in a ponytail or under a hat to keep it out of the fossil fuels..... not to mention out of the moving parts :biggrinbo

I've been driving on rod knock for probably the last 5 years. Never got worst. Been running mobile1 15w50 since day one. Car has seen quite a bit of boost since then including a few dyno runs.:evil2: That's a freak engine.

In the bad old days I used 90wt gear oil to get me home a few times
(NOT in a Supra though)

Add pack may have helped... but I think that's pretty much the same as a 50 grade motor oil.
