Rod knock? BHG? WTF is going on??? Need help, plz.

Well I found out ALL my problems today. :icon_bigg :cry:

1ST: The disappearing coolant: It was a massive bubble that was in the system. And it is fixed. Also replaced the upper rad hose and rad cap.

2ND: The oil pressure: I went to the guys that rebuilt the engine before I bought the car and asked a few questions. Turns out the guys didnt replace the valve gaskets and just reused the old ones. So Im looking at taking the head off and Completely redoing the head. My money is on the valve gaskets went bad.

3RD: Sputtering: ^^^Explains the sputtering because with oil in the combution chamber it can cause the car to sputter a little or alot.

4TH: CEL Light: I didnt check the codes, because I havent had time yet. But I will be checking them.

Valve Stem seals have 0 to do with Oil Pressure.....

The gauge may be wrong, try to borrow a test gauge or a known good working mechanical guage to compare readings.

What is the stock guage reading?

I remember a friend of mine said my oil pressure was really low even though it was at the correct mark. 4~psi at idle

What is the stock guage reading?

At idle, it sits just above the 0 mark. When Im at 2000rpms it sits at 18-19psi. When I cruise at 3000rpms+ it gets to between 22- 25 psi. and even if I floor it, thats the highest I can get it.

When its cold and I start it, the gauge goes to about 25psi, and if I rev the car it goes to about 35psi. But thats as high as it goes.

My pressure is pretty close to what it needs to be until I get to 2500rpms+
Then it levels out at 23-25 psi tops.

My dad just said screw it, were going to take the engine out and rebuild it.

I FINALLY got the truth about the car.

Heres how the story goes....The guy who owned it before me, blew the turbo in it. He bought a new one and swapped it in. He took the engine out and put a new hg on and didnt resurface anything. He didnt do any head work at all. He did have the block done but he admitted it wasnt the best. So now Im stuck with the car.

Here are my plans:

1st: Get a new head. (Built racing head from a friend 240$)
2nd: Resurface everything that needs it. (800$?)
3rd: 1.5mm mhg (209)
4th: clutch kit (needs to be done anyways) (600$)

All in all about 2 grand worth of work.

i cleaned mine with the expensive 10$ per can electronics cleaner from radio shack...will this cause a problem for me?
