i am planning on doing rod bearings on my supra very soon.. i dont have the budget currently to do a full bottom end rebuild unfortunatly. but i need to have this car running asap. my plan was to kinda go at it a different way so as to avoid taking the motor completely apart. i was going to take out the spark plugs to remove compression. then drop the crossmember and the oil pan, and possibly the oil pump, and just do the bearings one at a time. i know this isnt the correct way to do it. but im hardpressed for time and money right now... is there anything i should really worry about doing it this way? im guessing they wont last too long, but if it gets 6 months. im ok with that, ill have money by then. any input would be great. the main thing im worried about is if the crank is scored how much that will affect the new bearings.. thanks guys.
