I'm not the repost mafia, but I know this has been on at least once on the threads below back in september. It's hard to find something that hasn't been posted before. I'm sure it will be new to some of the members on here though.

As much as they are ricers, I think its funny, that the cops spend all this time and money just for a few arrest and a couple of tickets. Would be a better Idea to build a few tracks for all that city money they spent on this.

Ridiculous, they're not hurting anyone. The cops should be dealing with drug dealers and crap not a bunch of guys who just race cars on a more or less abandoned road. All this street racing stuff is getting really blown out of proportion by the government and dumb ass lobby groups. I imagine if they would do it on a closed course for cheap they would, its not like they like being stuck on some haggard ass strip of road.

itt police just watched the fast and the furious for the first time.

Do I smell some resentment of those who disapprove of street racing from you Canuck? lol

I'm certainly not saying street racing is a good idea or should be legal, I'm just saying the issue is getting blown out of the water and the police and government is going about things all wrong and making stupid assumptions. Like all the street racers have stolen engines and crap and yet out of all of those cars they didn't find one stolen engine, sure some jackasses steal stuff but that's a definite minority and they treat them like they're all thieves. The police/government must be using the fast and the furious as an educational video.

They should be building tracks like any other recreational facility like stadiums or soccer fields. But that isn't the case; the closest strip to me is hours away.

Stolen my ass, he's not convicted, they just think it's stolen.

Back in the 60's they used to allow street racing on certain roads on the weekends...

I agree with building more places to race, some one I know tried to build a track near by and the township shut it down. He had everything set building contracts signed and has a huge pile of gravel siting on the site. He was in the proses of negotiating the site and donating part of it as a park. Sadly he died (on a tack) a wile back and the plans feel though.

Point being they don't want us to race on the streets but don't want the noise or “eye sore” of a track ether.

Think of the massive amount of taxpayer funds that went into that pathetic bust. Choppers are expensive to fly and should be used only for real crimes. How many officers were not on the street so they could set up this bust? I bet the cost to replace those windows was more than they got from the tickets. This was an obvious publicity stunt to boost the image of the ineffective police forces. Bust a gang, rapist, or killer and make the streets safer. After thats accomplished, then crack down on ricers.
