I pulled into a car wash a the kid working asks "What kind of car is that?"
"It's a Supra" I respond.
Then he insists "No, that's the car car from Back to the Future"
I explained that the car in that movie was a Delorean...mine was a supra. So he disagrees and calls his co-worker over to see the car from back to the future.... No doubt he will be 45 years old and still working in a car wash. F%cking idiot!

YES... ALL HAIL THE AWESOME SR20. Its so cool. Its got 200bhp, yessssss. And its got a turbo which automatically makes it the greatest motor ever. Its so awesome. I wish I had one in my 240.....

People like that used to bug me beyond belief. I would litterally want to stab then in the neck with a dull pencil. Now, i just give them a sort of blank stare, call them an idiot and go back along my day.

But on 1 occasion, i was swapping the 1J into my car in the driveway, and my 15 year old neighbor wanders over. Looking at the gutted shell of the JZA70 he asks what kind of car it was. Seeing how there was nothing left on it i figured it was a ligitimate question. Told him a little bit about what i was doing and he says " so you gunna keep the twins, or ditch them for a big single" I almost didnt know what to say, i couldnt beleve someone actually asked a good question about the stock twins

Best comment I had was by a lad in a petrol station, I was quing to pay for my petrol he turned to his friends and said "look Knight Riders car" (I drive a black Turbo) Made me chuckle to myself.

i've gotten the "is it twin turbo" question a few times. i've got an NA and i'm building a 7mgte to swap in it and when i talk to people about my project they always ask if i'm puttin a 2jz in. then i'll tell them a 7m and they never know what i'm talking about.
i've got a friend that drives a miata and he always asks me things about the build that only make sense to ask about a miata, some of the stuff i don't even know what he's talking about. he doesn't know much about cars, just miatas really.

ughhh i know EXACTLY what you mean.

its a hard question to answer, especially if you have a 7MGTE because you
1. know they dont know anything about the cars only that the 93+ came with twins
2. have a turbo but you are trying to dumb it down so they understand
3. actually have a 2jzgte and feel you need to explain you ditched the twins for a big single but then that wouldn't help a thing because of step 1 + 2 and they would think they have the same engine.
4. should know that every car has an intercooler and they still ask if you have a front mount.

oh well.

i have friends that think my car is slow because its not a (light) civic :biglaugh: they act like its a 3000GT or something :biglaugh:
