if they are selling the whole car that isnt registered for 8k you are paying too much.

you can buy one of these in japan for $1,800 shipping is a problem but still shipped it would be less than 8k

search...there is a thread all about this, and there is no chance you can get this done. And even if you did, youre better off converting a LHD to RHD.

thats why there are no skylines on the roads in america!.... oh wait... :)

its definitally possible... its just not going to be easy.

Two words: Not True, But if you have to ask, you probably don't know the right people.

If you live in Canada you can register them under the 15 year old import law. We have tons of RHD JZA70's, Skylines, Hilux p/u trucks and everything in between. Here in Vancouver I actually see more Skylines than MK4 Supras......almost daily. Next year the Mk4's will be legal for importing, hopefully that will force the prices down for the North American cars.

Probably only the Canadian MK4s.

I expect there are owners that have tried to sell there's and get all they can while they can, knowing next year RHD MK4s will start showing up.

I know I sure as hell wouldn't pay 30k for a MK4 when I could get an RHD one for much less if I lived in Canada. Late year North American models(97-98) might not be as effected.

I wish we had that policy in the US. But some US MK4 owners may be too proud of their "superior" 320hp US models to even care about a JDM import.

Just speculating of course.

If japanese cars don't have VIN plates, what is this thing I carry in my wallet that says "Toyota Motor Corporation, model, engine, frame No., color, trim, trans/axle, plant/build"?

:dunno:

i actually wonder how many supras in america are still 320 bhp :):) the ones that arent, im sure their owners wouldnt even know how much horsepower the car has.

i know a lot of people would like to see the prices of mkivs go down but i honestly doubt it will make much of an impact.. every 2jzgte i see is modded with cost of mods far surpassing what they are selling it for. i never see an unmodified 2jzgte supra. i see SOME non turbo automatics or non turbo manuals and they arent priced that bad, about the same price as a 2jzgte in japan
