Reverse lights wont turn on

Hi I bought an 89 MK3 about 2 weeks ago I noticed last week that the reverse lights wont turn on when i shift to reverse, can anyone help me?
I also don see the fuse for the rev lights if thats the problem :1zhelp:

Check for two wires from trans to near I take mani..might be a issue.

Did you check the bulbs? Just saying, you know. If the taillight sensor was bypassed, the warning light won't come on, to tell you the bulbs are bad.

Also check the rev. switch on the transmission. On my last 89, it went out on me. I picked up a used one (for $10) and once again I had lights.

what do the 2 wires from the tranny connect to? anyone got the color of the wires?

They connect to the switch on the tranny in the pic/ link i posted for the reverse lights

Wire colors are yellow and red w/ a black strip. IIRC. Look on page 78 of your TEWD . If you dont have one buy one

yea, my plug isnt there. hence the obvious question...

the wire are the same colors on both sides of the plug? for some reason i cant find the wires coming from the harness...

While a bulb check is always a good idea in the interest of accuracy the LFM doesn't monitor these lamps...

Sorry didn't realize that. My reverse lights have never gone out yet, so I never had a chance to find that out.
