I replaced my big ol barrel resonator in my intake today. My aunts boyfriend gave me a peice of 3 inch aluminum pipe so i said "why not!" cut it to fit and slid it in only cost me $3.50 because my hose clamps stripped out so i went and bought new ones.

I noticed alot more low end and throttle response but i also noticed that now the car seems to....not fall on its face but it doesnt pull as hard from about 5500 on up, normally i shift at around 6k or so but i think i might have to adjust that a little and try some different stuff next time i go to the 1/8th mile, and see what helps my times. :biglaugh:

The changes you're seeing are nothing more than perceptual... I guarantee it. At any rate there are dozens of threads covering this... so why do we need another?

I think the $3.50 would have been better spent on some degreaser! :aigo:

its not grease or dirt, its some type of rubber coating that the owner had put on the car. I still have the reciept for it. Its sprayed under the car in the engine bay and in the rear hatch area. I plan on getting it off the shock towers i just gotta find something that cleans it off without messing up the paint under it.

Good luck with that. The only thing capable of removing that crap is gasoline. The fact that it would screw up the paint would turn me away from it though. If I find something else that won't mess with the paint, I'll let you know.
