Not picking shit or being a smartarse but that statement is a little misleading Mike.

It depends on what material they were cast from and what temper they've been brought up to and even if everything is the best and ideal they still aren't as strong as the Stainless arms.

This isn't to say they're not strong enough for the application I'm sure they're more than suitable it's just the SS ones are overbuilt by a huge margin!

i hear ya IJ and i'm not trying to mislead our fellow supra-heads. I was given info from SS saying the steel were stronger; however the alumium ones are strong too. To be honest i really don't know the true difference. SS knows all about my car and I was told these alumium ones would be fine. I'm also gunning for a 10second pass this year.

i had a big thread going about the a1 trailing arms... all about making the stock ones stronger vs getting the ss ones... what it came down to was the ss was more expensive but lighter and stronger.. then they just started making the alumiunum ones at the time and were cheaper but not as strong.

Mike: LOL never meant you were trying to mislead anyone just that the statement was!

The Aluminium H Beam arms will be HUGELY strong, the SS ones for arguments sake will be overbuilt by a factor of 10 so the Aluminium ones would be a factor of 8! :)
(I have the Stainless ones but would run the Al ones without a thought)

When did they come out with Alu arms?
I've got SS trac arms, and I agree that they're overbuilt and that makes them sexy as hell, but I thought mine were aluminum...
I got them like 2 years ago

The steel are over kill, but if you are under weight or a slim woman driver I was trying to compensate for the need to keep your ass end down on the ground. But If you have put on that extra 4 or 5 pounds like I might have than the aluminum ones are so you can keep up with the younger racers.

What I said to mike was that the new aluminum ones will hold up. Now get to over 600 rwhp and prove it to me.

Mike is testing them to see how they perform, Oh, I forgot to tell Mike that part. Oh, sorry Mike, I also forgot to tell you I was sending them.

If mike likes them we will list them on the SS site. Also I will only use the poly bushing in them

So Mike are they working??

I can attest to how light the trailing arms are, I couldn't belive it until I held them.

I take it you havent been to the track yet Mike. I think there going to be nice times with the new wheels and arms :evil2:

I wouldn't recommend getting the aluminum trailing arms. There is a review on the site saying they broke on some guy.
SS reply to the review.
SS Reply: The Aluminum arms are discontinued. We had a couple sets fail and they were replaced by LIPP with the Stainless Steel arms. LIPP does not warrenty any aluminum arms that were not Sold through SupraSport.com! The remaining stock have been sold through a 3rd party and are DO NOT carry the any expressed warrenty through LIPP or any reseller LIPP uses!

HPF and SS still list them on the site but supposedly do not carry them anymore.

You are correct SupraSport does not sell the aluminum arms anymore. A couple of sets broke because they were installed without shims. Cast aluminum does not handle the twist like stainless steel.
The Stainless ones are the ONLY ones available on SupraSport.com and carry the same 1000hp warrenty as they used too. We have had 0 returns or issues with the stainless steel arms. They weigh a few more pounds but if your really that wooried about the extra 6 lbs than just put 2 less gallons of fuel in the car to compensate

Could you elaborate on these shims? I have a set of Aluminum arms that I have yet to install and I know nothing about these shims you speak of. Please let me know so that I can prevent damage to my parts.
