Replacement of hatch lift supports

I have a 1989 Supra non-turbo and purchased Sachs/Stabilus lift supports to replace the original lifts. They did not come with instructions. Does anyone have instructions (pictures would also be helpful) to remove the old ones? It appears that I have to take off the interior plastic trim to access the old mounts. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I really think Toyota could have done a better job at making those more easily accessible.:icon_mad:
