Hey guys...im getting ready to paint my 89 supra, can some one tell me how the black trim on the top of the door against the window comes off? I dont want to break it, seeing that all this trim cost an arm and a leg! thanks Mike

I did this on an 88 door so there may be a difference, I'm not sure. Roll the window all the way down and see if you can get to the two screws. They are at the far ends of the strip. As hvyman said, you may have to take out the door panel, I can't remember if that was necessary or not, since I had mine off anyway. Once the screws are out, just pull up until all the metal clips pop off the door. But again, the 88 door may be different.

I just went out and looked at my 89 door, with door panel removed. It appears to me that you would have to remove the door panel to me. Maybe you could get to the screws with an offset screwdriver, but you will likely be removing the panel to retrieve the screws, as they would probably fall inside the door. Pulling a door panel is a 5 minute job. Let me know if you need help on that.
